We seek diverse, divergent, and atypical voices and to showcase work from emerging and established writers and artists alike.
We seek literature and art that explores themes evident in current events, or is focused on contradictions and divisions: within our selves, within and between communities, and the various ways that individuals and groups nevertheless overwhelm their separateness.
The Song Between Our Stars is independently published by Pingo Soochét in print and online and is edited by a group of volunteer editors.

The Song Between Our Stars is a literary and art journal dedicated to showcasing creative reactions to current events. It was founded in 2020 by a group of artists and writers from various backgrounds, all with editorial and/or curatorial experience. We seek diverse, divergent, and atypical voices and to showcase work from emerging and established writers and artists. The Song Between Our Stars is published in print and online twice a year, in May and November.
We hope to become a paying market but are not yet, so staff positions are strictly voluntary and can not be compensated outside of masthead recognition. Staff submissions are excluded from consideration.
The Song Between Our Stars is a member of the Community of Literary Presses and Magazines, nominates for Pushcart, Best of the Net and other prizes. Our staff currently has generational diversity, some racial diversity, and some diversity in terms of gender and sexual identity, but we'd like to continue to expand the kinds of voices who help us understand the submitting author's voices.
Our staff educational and professional backgrounds are varied; we appreciate that fabulous perspective does not arise solely from the realm of university education, so absence of formal literary education is not a barrier for consideration.
